First off SWITCH is not a portable first console, second a SWITCH cost quiet a bit more then any mobile gaming device. Sony blew it with the Vita because of proprietary memory cards, that were outrageously expensive. Also the advertising was horrible, and once it became evident there were problems instead of fixing them they abandoned the device dumb move but Sony was in a very bad financial situation at the time and they focused all resources on the PS4 which in hindsight was the best move for the company.
I have had my VIta since day 1, games like Uncharted, God of Wars, Metal Gears were very much full games and the Vita is still strong in Japan today. I would not be surprised if Sony relaunches another mobile.
