Probably using those resources to speed up the switch version? It makes more sense, the Switch version has a higher chance of selling better, even with a much lower player base compared to the 3DS.

But the 3ds game is done, the only resources it would need is translation teams and distribution/publishing. None of those resources can be put to use on the Switch version yet as that game isn't released, and doesn't even have a date for a Japan release, never mind the rest of the world.
