It seems then that you havent been active enough on forums or gaming news.SE is known for amnnouncing games too early, to the point that games like KH III and FF XV were announced when they were barely at pre production states.

True, SE has announced several games earlier than needed. Now, what does this do to you? Are you the news police? I now know that a game I am interested in is in development and will be for some time. You know what I do? I play the 100's of other games I also want to play inbetween the wait., or work on personal projects, workout, work and make money,  have a life.

Funny part is we should be happy that we know about games in development, even if a long time to release. It means developer are now obligated to maintain a quality level that is up to standards of the consumers. You know all that bitching most do when slight elements are changed in their favorite series? You would not get a chance to potentially affect development if the window between announcement and release is too small.

What?Of course this influences me.I want to play those games, not wait for them.

We are in a gaming forum.I think it should go without saying that we care about games more deeply than the average gamer, and thus it sucks really bad when you want to play a game that will still take 5 years to be released.I wholeheartedly prefer to not know that the game is in development and be surprised by its reveal 6 to 1 year before its release than having to wait a stupid amount of time till its release. Now only that, but that long period of wait can influence in the game sales performance, and if that series you so much love dosen get enough sales, you might just never have a new entry.

Plus it helps me to focus and be more excited about games that are about to release, not games that will release in the years to come.Plus bitching about things in games that are still in development hardly ever changes the game that much, and when they do, usually the changes that can be made are more superficial. If the game is fundementally broken, that is unfixable, bar scratching the project and starting anew.FF XV is such an example of Square trying to "fit" FF into more modern tastes and being the huge pile of mess it was.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
