From what I've seen, there are no technical issues or anything on PS4 . Just seems to be because Sony had marketing rights for it and most critics got PS4 review codes.

Or maybe Xbox gamers prefer the setting, I guess PlayStation gamers may have been more upset with the religious cult aspect.
