Anyways 53 mg/dl = 2.9 mmol/L

Here in denmark, we use the mmol/L way of meassureing.

When you start risking going into a coma is around ~2.2 mmol/L ( ~40 mg dl) apparently.
I can understand you where shocked at it being 53 even if its still far from dangerously low.

Dont you get any symptoms?
like my dad can "feel" when his blood sugar is getting to low (he ll get headached, nausea ect).

In a normal person (without diabetes) you should have a blood sugar level of ~4,4-4,6 mmol/L (80-82 mg dl).
~1 hours after eating a meal.
