Not really, GM's get fired all the time they just get less press than the HC because the HC is a more public figure. The moral of the story is while Spencer was the head of the MS game studio he still had to report to and follow the lead of Mattrick. Now he only reports to the CEO of Microsoft, he is in control of the entire gaming division.
