This sounds like the PS3 all over again.

Custom Hardware
Unique way of coding
Including previous console hardware for BC
More than 1 display at once
High price at launch

The price needs to be $400 just like with the PS4 and everything will be all right :)

It makes no sense to launch the PS5 PRO at launch of the normal PS5 since the tech will continue to move forward; so it will be better to make the PRO version 2-3 years later so that it has a significant enhancement.

Well considering that even at launch you can make completely different powersets between 399 and 599 consoles they could release a Pro, but I don't think they will.

I think Capcom and Sega visits are not about next-gen consoles dev kits but about some game contracts agreements.

Game contracts late in the gen. I don't think so. They are gearing up for the next hence they are visiting MS already.

Also, a lot of people here are talking about sales and such for the PS4 but ignores that Sony cannot afford to give the new Xbox a 1 year head start again.
Currently Xbone is not doing so hot and MS wants to start the new gen badly. As I said above they are just waiting for the next box and they will follow suit. They have the leverage of a waiting game  because of PS4 while MS needs to be aggressive at the start.

So you think that MS is going to launch X2 this year after like 6 months of X1X for Sony to be hard pressed to not give MS a 1 year headstart?

With Holidays 2021 the most certain date.

Possibly. Sony still has plenty of leeway here, and they could potentially extend the generation a bit more through price cuts. The PS4 still retails for $300. Last November showed that the PS4 has strong potential at $200 (over 42% YoY growth, third-largest November for a console in gaming history), so Sony could reduce the price if possible, and they could reduce the Pro to $300 to keep pace. . Of course, eventually no amount of price cuts will keep sales from declining, as the system will inevitably start to reach a saturation point and the number of potential new customers will rapidly dwindle. Such is the fate of every system. But the PS4 may not have yet exhausted avenues for potential growth or at least continued sales stabilization. $200 could be the "sweet spot" price for the PS4.

Yep I agree... we are still to see a formal 249 base price and 149 BF price that will probably occur this year, 199 base 2019 and 149 2020-2021.

This leak is false, obviously. But even if dev kits were out there, it wouldn't necessarily mean 2019 release. Could be 2020.

And even without devkits, next gen can be worked with abstract configuration devs think will be mainstream in 2 or 3 years.
