Here's my case. This is coming from a long time MS supporter and Xbox owner. The first Xbox caught me off guard. I remember the first time walking into GameStop and picking up the Duke controller. I honestly had no clue what the Xbox was and it almost felt like a joke. Anyway...I bought it for Dead or Alive 3 specifically. Learned about Halo in the following months and the rest is history.
I've been through multiple systems with the RRoD and some of the worst customer service ever but I stayed loyal.
This gen. Not so much.
I took a break from gaming and am still getting used to being back. I purchased an original 1 and had it stolen...took yet another hiatus...and as of August last year own a 1S. Here's my issue.
I'm a frugal guy. Always have been. I haven't had internet installed for years thanks to my phone and occasional trips to the library...and because of this...lost my relationship with Xbox.
IMO the biggest mistake MS made with the 1 was implementing disc installments...that REQUIRE INTERNET. I can't tell you how much of bone headed choice it was on their behalf. To people with internet providers..it would completely go over their head but for people like myself...ruined a good thing.
So now...I game on my PS4 (pro) and VR...and honestly...have no regrets...other than purchasing what has become a 300 dollar dust collector. I mean I own games that are still sealed.
I currently have my 1 on Craigslist and surprisingly have gotten a shirt ton of inquiries but everybody us a low baller these days. I have it listed for 190 with Battlefield 1. If the right buyer bites.... you're looking at a long time fan...no more. Well....at least this gen.;)
