Both systems will be built from the ground up.

  • What that means is - at least in Sony's console(s) – there won't be any AMD parts for example. It will be a totally unique system with it's own architecture. There's a very strong reason behind this firstly questionable decision. By sticking to the AMD parts / PC architecture, Sony would not have been able to make/sell a console that is capable of running games as they wanted – at least for a reasonable price.

yea, I don't think there is a snowballs chance in hell for that to be true

Sony doesn't have the know how to develop a CPU/GPU that is up to the standards AMD can deliever for a 2019/20 console and even if they had the right people it would take an absurd amount of research/money to catch up and overtake AMD in that regard

additionally b/c becomes far too complicated if they change the architecture again, so I'm very certain they will stick to AMD and have easy PS4 b/c
