True.....but I think one has to make the logical assumption that if those people are really desperate about buying the switch (read baseline buyers) and couldn't get it elsewhere, they would know somebody, who would know somebody, who would in turn know another person who was aware that it was available on Amazon.
I would hold on to my opinion that whatever we get this week would be a pretty accurate reflection of the switch baseline. I would also have more confidence in it as the baseline if it only slightly deviates from the past 2 weeks's (that I've been aware of scarcity on Amazon) results in either direction. If it is below the 40k trend, then the switch baseline is about 35k, if it is significantly higher, then the baseline is northwards of 40k and yet to find a true level.

Even having partial stock issues will effect numbers. It's like when people were playing down Switch stock issues in the US because it can be bought elsewhere but clearly sales numbers never reached their full potential.

Sure. I will be going by the consistency on numbers we've see in the past 2 weeks of known scarcity on Amazon and this coming results week of known availability on Amazon.
Other things being equal I can make some deductions from that as to whether the switch has found its baseline or not.
