PC gaming market saw a 24% year-over-year growth in January 2018

SuperData Arcade has shared its monthly report, claiming that the PC gaming market saw a 24% year-over-year growth in January 2018. According to the report, gamers spent $8.9B billion digitally on games across all platforms in January.
The Social and Pay-to-Play MMO segments shrank 5% and 9%, respectively. On the other hand, Mobile and Free-to-Play MMO segments continued to grow, 11% and 1%, respectively.

Modder ‘NightmareDoors’ has released the demo of a new total conversion mod for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void, called Dead Zone – Hope Lost. Dead Zone – Hope Lost is described as a dense horror atmosphere unlike anything else seen in Starcraft 2 thanks to a large amout of custom assets, enviromental systems and intricate sound design.

XSEED Games and Nihon Falcom have released a brand new patch for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II. This patch adds 120 FPS and 240 FPS frame limiter options, packs various optimizations to loading speed and caching, and fixes memory allocation ordering issues, eliminating some types of crashes occuring on some sytems.

Chrono Trigger on the PC is a mess, there is no doubt about that. While the game suffers from a variety of issues, the biggest one is the ridiculously awful filter that Square Enix used in order to ‘update’ its visuals. Duke Nukem Forever was a huge disappointment for a lot of Duke Nukem fans. However, there was a version that impressed everyone back in 2001. Ubisoft will beef up its ban system in Rainbow Six Siege next week, targeting players using racial and homophobic slurs or hate speech in-game, it has announced. The company will ban players for either two, seven, or 15 days depending on severity, and will permaban the worst offenders, it said in a Reddit post.

A lot is changing in Rainbow Six Siege: not only will it's third season usher in a cooperative zombie mode, but what you get when you purchase the game will be different, too. In a new blog, Ubisoft has announced it will remove the Renown cost for the game's original 20 operators. This applies to owners of the Advanced, Gold and Complete Editions, and will take effect March 6.
