This is also the image that I have. I don´t really know how accurate it is, but it seems plausible.
What I don´t really get about true racists that treat other people badly because of different color, origin, religion or culture, is that what are they hoping to gain from that. For example those europeans who talk about muslim refugees coming here and raping everyone and doing terrorist attacks etc. seem to want those things to happen. If refugees come from war ridden countries or if some people just come for a better life and income, why would they all suddenly be bad people and if they are not all bad what use is to treat those people badly. Mistreating people creates a vicious circle of violence and vengeange.
Religion is often also used as an excuse to say/do racist things "without being racist", whether its christianity or buddhism or whatever.
