Because of the game. There was no real reason to buy a PS4 Pro before 2017 and the "PS4 Pro patch" wasn't a real improvement or a reason to buy the console, only a few games in 2016 were optimized for the PS4 Pro like Uncharted 4. But almost all new AAA games in 2017 were made for the PS4 Pro, and I don't need to mention Horizon Zero Dawn, the greatest PS4 Pro game to date.
At least, that's what I think
