I will bite my tongue about how the OP offends me as no one will care.

The PS Vita mostly shows how a dedicated handheld will struggle in the modern market when it goes up against tablets. Nintendo mostly rode off the 3D bandwagon (briefly) and then through the strength its IPs. Nintendo always succeeds by following a niche, and the the dedicated handheld niche just isn't big enough anymore with tablets around.
