PS4 is doomed!!!! Xd. But seriously congrats to Nintendo. If PS4 still couldn’t win with monster hunter, I don’t see it winning too many months this year, if any. Depending how this year goes, Sony might start thinking of a 2019 ps5 launch. Which will make PS4 6 years old by that point.

I think Sony can continue extending PS4's sales curve by doing a price cut and making compelling new bundles (I think a combination of these things along with their current robust release schedule will allow them to be very competitive against Switch with regards to unit sales). At this point in the system's life, MHW would not do much to bring new customers into the PS4 eco-system (the PS4 has had enough Japanese oriented releases to bring that base over; not to mention the game is also available on Xbox, so someone that has an Xbox One that really wants to play it does not need to purchase a Playstation 4); however, MHW might be enough of a reason for some existing PS4 owners to purchase a PS4 Pro much like MH4U pushed New 3DS.

Switch is doing quite well right now despite a lack of new large scale releases. I do hope, however, that Nintendo has compelling larger-scale games ready for 2018 so that they can keep the momentum going (if they do not, then I fear not only for their 20 million goal but also for their ability to maintain their current momentum). In addition, ideally, they should also have a plan ready to reduce the system's price once Sony and MS do a permanent price cut (which at this point seems inevitable), in order to keep the system competitive this year.
