I don't think any game gets negative impressions. At least not until days before it's release.

Either way. It's likely to be the best game on PS3 this year and the best game on the system period. I haven't heard many people contest that. The only contention is how it'll sell.

1up just gave a pretty negative impression for Killzone 2. But in general, I guess they try to stay positive.

I know saying this will make people tell me to "get off the forum if you don't like it!", but I don't see how anyone believes that Killzone 2 will be anything more than if even an average shooter with good graphics, albeit with a very grayscale design that doesn't seem to take advantage of them. Guerrilla Studios has never made a game with an average review score in the 80s or higher, and it's clear from these previews that it's not IGN's reverse-conservative attitude, it's the developers. Mark my words, Resistance 2 will be the real next shooter for the PS3. Aside from Nintendo, Insomniac has excelled most in delivering great games of multiple genres for all age groups this generation.
