With that being said, the baseline in Japan sounds closer to 55k~ (45k-65k) than 40k under perfect stock conditions, which is pretty good assuming it doesn't fall lower. The price will have to go down if Nintendo wants it to fully assimilate the handheld playerbase.

And price doesn't need to go down. Just you wait when Pokémon, Animal Crossing and even Yokai Watch have released on the Switch.
