The news, part two:

Metro Exodus is bigger than 2033 and Last Light combined
https://www.pcgamer.com/metro-exodus-is-bigger-than-2033-and-last-light-combined/
4A Games has said previously that Metro Exodus will be more open than the previous games in the Metro series, but it won't be a completely open world like that of Stalker. In a new interview with Game Informer, creative director Andiry Prokhorov and executive producer Jon Bloch offered more insight into how the two will compare, and it sounds like Exodus might actually be more Stalker-like than expected.

Roguelike platformer 20XX adds third playable character Hawk
https://www.pcgamer.com/roguelike-platformer-20xx-adds-third-playable-character-hawk/
20XX is a co-op roguelike platformer heavily inspired by Mega Man. For many players, it filled the void created by the disappointment that was Mighty No. 9, and it got a major upgrade today with the release of Hawk, its third playable character.

Fast-paced strategy game Space Tyrant rockets out of Early Access this month
https://www.pcgamer.com/fast-paced-strategy-game-space-tyrant-rockets-out-of-early-access-this-month/
Here are just a few of the things developer Blue Wizard Digital has called Space Tyrant: "a surprisingly deep beer and pretzels strategy game," a "roguelike-lite-ish 5X game," and a "zero-attention span mega-empire builder." For those wondering, according to Blue Wizard, a 5X game is "like a 4X game, but with even more X."

Meet the new enemies in Rainbow Six Siege 'Outbreak'
https://www.pcgamer.com/meet-the-new-enemies-in-rainbow-six-siege-outbreak/
"It's adapting faster than we can track," Rainbow Six demolitions specialist Eliza "Ash" Cohen says in the Outbreak briefing trailer Ubisoft released last week. "We up the ordnance, and it created this thing." A thing that looks like it would be more at home in Prey than a Rainbow Six game, but there it is—and there are actually five of them, each with unique characteristics and abilities.

EVE Online devs reveal harsher punishments for botters
https://www.pcgamer.com/eve-online-dev-baffles-some-players-by-softening-its-punishment-on-botters/
Last week I wrote about how bots, programs that automate human input, are threatening EVE Online. (...)During that initial report, CCP declined to comment saying that the next time they spoke on the issue it would be to present a new plan that would alleviate the community's concerns.
Today, a new developer blog by CCP attempted to do just that but appears to have only stoked the community's frustrations even more. In the blog post, CCP announced that in January it had banned over 1,800 accounts. It's a promising start to culling a problem that many believe is running rampant from bots who mine asteroids, kill NPC pirates to collect their bounties, and even monitor and update trade orders on the marketplace.

https://www.pcgamer.com/sea-of-thieves-pc-players-accounted-for-one-third-of-closed-beta/
Sea of Thieves rolled out its closed beta last month, which brought out the best and worst of the PC Gamer team. Of its 332,052 total players, developer Rare has now revealed 32.4 percent of those played on PC—which my crude arithmetic informs me sits somewhere around the 107,584 mark.

Konami explains MGS5 'nuclear disarmament' event mishap, apologises to players (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-mgs5-nuclear-disarmament-event-triggered-this-weekend-but-no-one-seems-to-know-why/
After inadvertently triggering its Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain 'nuclear disarmament' event earlier this month, Konami has now explained what happened and has apologised to its players.
As detailed in the following tweets, the publisher says its servers were fed "incorrect values", which in turn forced a false player-owned nuke reading.

Hawaii proposes new legislation to regulate use of loot boxes
https://www.pcgamer.com/hawaii-proposes-new-legislation-to-regulate-use-of-loot-boxes/
Towards the end of last year, Hawaii state legislator Chris Lee called out videogame loot boxes. He described EA's Battlefront 2 as "a Star Wars-themed online casino", and announced plans to seek an "accountability piece" of legislation in a bid to govern how publishers implement the controversial system.
Four new bills have now been introduced to this end.
