There's many possible reasons which could have led them to decide a Switch port will never happen and I'm sure in the end it makes perfect sense for their business. What doesn't make sense is not providing any of those reasons.
By stating why they can't/won't port the game they would have stopped a lot of those annoying follow up tweets like "UR so dum, tis is perfect game for Switch".
