yes i believe 360 could, i think battlefield 3 is proof of that, it was designed to take advantage of ps3 hardware, and 360 handles it fine.

Battlefield 3 used a deferred shader with tiled-based lighting and displacement mapping for the terrain...
They leveraged instancing to reduce draw calls, and the list goes on.

They actually leveraged the SPU on the Playstation 3 to handle the deferred shading while on the Xbox 360 they leveraged the GPU's ALU's to do analytical work and leveraged the CPU to lend a hand.
And by not going with forward rendering they managed to garner some efficiency gains as light culling got more effective.

The short end of it is that you cannot just take the Playstation 3 version of the game and drop it onto the Xbox 360 as both take slightly different approaches to rendering the game.

However... One thing to keep in mind is that Battlefield 3 is not Uncharted, Gears of War, Halo 4, The Last of us.
And thus because of it's technical deviations isn't an accurate representation of those titles running on another platform.

And hopefully you can start to see the point.

Of course i see the point that's why it''s useless  to compare exclusives. I hope you see the point.
