Yeah, but Quake has been like that for some time now and doing an SP Quake would basically make it another DOOM clone, but with an even weaker storyline, which is likely why we aren't seeing a single player 20+ hr campaign driven Quake title.
We still need Arena shooters. We need an actual good arena shooter to gather people back to the scene, but so far, the vast majority of them have all failed.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
