Part 2 of the news:

Blizzard announced last week that Overwatch would mark the Year of the Dog with a new Lunar New Year event beginning on February 8. Today OW boss Jeff Kaplan fired off a new developer update video laying out what's in store, beginning with a brand new map set in Thailand.

Failbetter Games lays off employees, Sunless Skies delayed
https://www.pcgamer.com/failbetter-games-lays-off-employees-sunless-skies-delayed/
2017 was a "mixed bag" for Sunless Sea developer Failbetter Games, and it's resulted in some unfortunate changes at the studio and on its next project, Sunless Skies, which has sold far fewer copies than Sunless Sea and isn't going to make its scheduled May release.

Destiny 2's Crimson Days event includes a new map and 2v2 Clash combat
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-crimson-days-event-includes-a-new-map-and-2v2-clash-combat/
Destiny 2's Crimson Days event, confirmed for a comeback in January, will feature a new map called Burnout, the studio revealed today, and a new 2v2 Clash mode that will very strongly encourage players to stick together. Abilities will recharge faster for partners in close proximity, while those who stray too far apart will be marked by waypoints telling their enemies where they are.

https://www.pcgamer.com/sweden-could-classify-loot-boxes-as-gambling-by-early-2019/
Sweden has become the latest country to suggest that it could implement some sort of restriction on loot boxes in videogames. Ardalan Shekarabi, the country's Minister for Public Administration, told P3 News that loot boxes could be classified as a form of gambling by 2019, which would subject them to more stringent regulations under Swedish law.

Metro Exodus will feature a year-long journey across the Russian wilderness
https://www.pcgamer.com/metro-exodus-will-feature-a-year-long-journey-across-the-russian-wilderness/
I'm a big fan of 4A's Metro games, and I'm very much looking forward to the third chapter, Metro Exodus. But where 2033 and Last Light were sweaty, claustrophobic crawls through ruined, infested tunnels under Moscow, the new game, as this Game Informer report lays out, will be a very different sort of experience.

ARK Park, the Survival Evolved VR offshoot, will release this March
https://www.pcgamer.com/ark-park-the-survival-evolved-vr-offshoot-will-release-this-march/
ARK Park, in case the name (not to mention the headline above) doesn't make it clear, is an Ark: Survival Evolved offshoot. Announced last year, it's a fairly laid back museum-like affair where you can wander around and gawk at prehistoric beings. Or is it? Apparently there will be some "hardcore" elements too, if this news story from last year is still accurate.

Injustice 2 welcomes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this month
https://www.pcgamer.com/injustice-2-welcomes-the-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-this-month/
The thought of Batman, Sub-Zero and the Teenage Mutant Hero, rather, Ninja Turtles starring in the same fighting game is enough to send child me's head spinning. As of February 20 (Feb 13 for Ultimate Edition owners) my formative dreams will be realised, as the Heroes in a Half Shell join Injustice 2's roster.
