That would make sense if software was up, it's more likely that Xbox one owners are pushing the HW sales by upgrading. It could also be argued that most newcomers are at this moment being attracted by the HW in a similar way too buyers at the start of a new gen,that similarity being the anticipation of it bearing fruit down the line.
