Because who ever wins on Amazon wins on NPD in 95% of the cases. Sony fans only started arguing against it because the Switch keeps winning in the US. 

this is false, ps4 and switch had months where they were super close in NPD so amazon rankings wouldn't really matter, ps4 destroyed xb in december yet xbox won by a nice margin. this year will be good proof if amazon is correct on switch since stock is good, not perfect, but itsa far cry from last year, where it was mostly sold out the whole month. there was another month where switch won on amazon but ps4 won, so 95%, not even close.
