Marvel Comic Legend Stan Lee Is Back Home After Health Scare

"I'm feeling great."

Marvel comics legend Stan Lee has been released from hospital following a health scare. The 95-year-old was rushed to Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday to be treated for shortness of breath and irregular heartbeat.

Lee is now home and spoke to ABC Los Angeles station KABC to assure fans that he was feeling well. "All I really want to do is tell you that I'm feeling great," he said. "I'm glad I spent that evening in the hospital. I figured that a little check up wouldn't be bad for me. And in fact, it turned out to be pretty good, it got me a lot of publicity!"

Lee attended the premiere for Black Panther, the latest Marvel movie, earlier this week. In the interview, he joked about attending the screening. "I'm always there, cropping up," he said. "I'm always helping, aiding, and assisting. I hope the world realises how much it owes to me!"

Lee's first break in the comics industry came in 1961, when he co-created the Fantastic Four with artist Jack Kirby, after years of struggling as a writer for a variety of publishers. In the following years he helped create such as now-legendary superheroes as Spider-Man, Hulk, the X-Men, and Iron Man.

In 2016, it was reported that a "period action adventure" movie based on Lee's life was in development at Fox. However, there has been no further news of this project since.
