Granted I've never held on to a frozen steak for nearly three years, there have been instances where I have thawed a 6 month old rib-eye (my favourite cut), and it was just as delicious as any fresh steaks I've had. Freezing preserves food longer than you would imagine.
Personally, I would have no issues with eating two year old frozen steak if it looks normal after thawing.
Bon apetite! If you do get an upset stomach then you know not to eat two year old steak again. Let us know.
