I know, but that wasn't the point. And it does come close to VR when you sit in a car with a screen all around outside that adjusts the image based on the position of your head. Close one eye with the vr headset on and see how it all still works. Stereoscopic depth perception is only a small part. Besides that, VR is still missing depth perception based on focal length cues which sitting in a car simulator doesn't lack.

Ofcourse what that car simulator can't do is swap between sitting in a kart, a samba bus, road cars, race cars, etc. A 6 million dollar car game with only 1 car, and people complain about the lack of content on GT Sport :p
