God of War 4 will definitely sell more out of the gate, but I think Labo will have a much longer tail. Labo has a few major advantages, including:
1. It’s not just one game, but a franchise. It’s going to to get multiple games, more than the two already revealed.
2. Games like Labo, when they do well, tend to sell well consistently for YEARS.
So I definitely give Labo the edge here. Of course, if Labo pulls a Wii Music and turns out to not be very appealing to consumers, then God of War 4 will crush it through sheer name recognition alone. It’s basically franchise appeal vs mainstream appeal here. GoW is a tried and tested brand, Labo isn’t. But Labo could appeal to a wider audience if it has the mass appeal I think it has.
