Indeed, GPU prices are ridiculous.
TechSpot did an article about it a few days ago comparing MSRP values with actual retail prices: https://www.techspot.com/news/72854-nvidia-asking-graphics-card-retailers-prioritize-gamers-over.html

And neither AMD nor Nvidia can do anything about it, because retailers will (obviously) try get as much profit as they can, without caring who is buying the cards.
The worst part, tho, is that I doubt this mining craze will end anytime soon unless authorities start regulating all this crytpo currencies madness, and they don't seem particularly worried about it.
