If it's ever ported to the Switch (which I think is more plausible than it first seemed given recent comments from Capcom) it'll blow past that. Otherwise, I'm not so sure... it definitely has a shot but I don't imagine the Xbox community will be too helpful.
8 million is a lot of games for any franchise; it would be fun to see this really catch on in the west with console owners, but I'm personally just going to wait until either a Switch port or the next Switch MH title as it just feels like a great portable franchise to me.
