EmuVR has you covered for a social experience with classic games. (And surely split screen) |
That's not for me. I love VR yet it's not comfortable enough to put the helmet on for 2D games. I tried it with psvr (played Life is strange on it) and it just feels pointless. Granted I have a 1080p projector to play those on so the view with or without the headset is virtually the same, except much sharper on the projector of course. Yet even if the resolution was better, I still can't comfortably lean back on the head rest with the helmet on.
Social experiences however are much better in VR. Star trek bridge crew was already amazing with the crude avatars. Simply being able to look at the person you're talking to and use hand gestures is so much better than talking to thin air.
The PS5 better have a dedicated VR port or I will be disappointed. The breakout box is annoying, as well as the camera setup (best is still on a couple boxes in the middle of the room, far from ideal). Yet once it works and you have time to play for a while you don't want to take it off.
