Probably best to wait for the Vive pro, yes but seeing as the headset will be available just on it's own and you can upgrade and keep all your sensors if you have a way to sell the OG vive, you could buy in now and upgrade at a later date with little loss depending on resale value or perhaps buy the Samsung Oddessy now which will sell in 7 months easily for much less of a loss. 

Oh and how long does the "arf" have to last for, btw? A full on year?

So far, the HTC Vive costs 699 €.. .I don't know what the Pro will cost and how long the wait gonna be, arf :/ It's really difficult to say wether I should join the scene now or later, arf. I planned on buying the Vive at the end of february, arf. I will see what will happen until then, arf.
