So "next time" means let's stop all sexual activity and also you seem to have skipped the part that she had done oral before the attempted penetration

come on man if you are just about to penetrate a woman and she tells you to stop, you have to comply or else its rape... consent has to be taken into consideration at every stage of a sexual interaction

And he stopped, he didn't penetrate her. If how you put is how it happened then at most he tried to after no penetration but previously having oral return to oral. So no rape, but sure if she had said no (meaning no, or multiple times while he attempted, because yes sometimes people say no but body language and tone shows it is more for sweetness) and he kept forcing his way I would totally agree it was rape.

Strange enough after all this assault both were hugged watching TV while waiting for the cab and she called after to say she didn't like and he appologize.

And surely enough being a jerk doesn't equal being a rapist... but serves right that someone passing moral judgement all the time falls on it.

Also as in ANY case there are at least 3 PoVs, one for each part and the truth (because even if both people aren't consciously lying they aren't telling the full story from all perspectives)

Maybe my timeline is off but I believe he tried to get sex even while they were watching TV. I was given the impression it all stopped at that point. The media isnt clarifying how aggressive he allegedly was being. It wasnt just a bad date.

I believe he also contacted her first and thats when she clarified she didnt like what happen. The guy sounded oblivious, so maybe its a lie or Aziz is out of touch with women in practice.

So yeah, he may deserve the career hit for this because it sounds like he's a hypocrite.

Career hit no doubt, because on the least he is a scumbag or an idiot. Just don't agree on putting everything as assault or rape because that diminish the impact when it really happens.
