| The Fury said: Dull game last night in the Carabau Cup but they used Video Assistant Referee. What are your thoughts on the system? Only a few instances being used in the first half as second half was dull. What I noticed most is the time it took and how 'unintuitive' it seems to be. A decision is made then the ref waits for the other ref to say what? Yes no? I think the VAR system should be used as a backup not the override the ref but to make actual decisions. The ref knows in most cases is if something is a foul or not, but might not have a clear view of how bad of a foul. The game can continue and the VAR person reviews the foul and sees that it's a bad one so tells the ref to issue a Yellow. That kind of stuff. Plus if the ball goes in, a quick check for offside tells the ref if it is allow or not, considering play has stopped already, it isn't a hard task. But the few instances we had it just seemed a bit off. |
it was just too slow. we could have already seen the footage and determined ourselfs. if its quicker than i think its a system that should be implimented
