So by your metric DriveClub and Gran Turismo are better IPs than Halo... Because I have played each version of GT and DC more than 200h, GT5 I have put at least 650h.

I believe he likes to own every HW and play the best titles on then.

Pemalite is a very reasonable and knowledgeable user on VGC.

Personal preference certainly matters. If you think Driveclub and GT Sport are better than Halo, thays fine. Its just not relective of everybody.

There is validity to an argument that Halo 5 is fun for years and helps sell X1 units for years. I mean there is a reason you can still find Minecraft, Halo, Gears, and Forza 3 bundles. These are all games that help move units even if not recent games. Nintendo platforms also rely on titles that are years old to push units.

I have no doubt Pemalite is knowledgable but he stops being reasonable to argue and relies on straw man arguments regularly.

I think most people agree if you own a good PC, there arent many reasons to have X1 outisde of a few older games, Halo titles, maybe BC, etc. So he plays most games on PC because obviously the visually fidelity will be better there, then he complains he isnt using his X1X enough. Thats not a reasonable argument. He knew what X1X would offer and maybe acts like he didnt know for attention.

Man sure it regards preference. But the argument made by him was that the time one play those games determine their quality.

But sure, some good MP games have helped MS keep selling X1.

Also one can not deny that looking at this gen there shouldn't be much reason to expect X1X would have many exclusives, even more with MS deciding to put play anywhere.

Master Chief Collection and Halo 5 alone are a good reason to buy Xbox One. As Puggsly said MCC was a disaster but it works pretty well now indeed and there's plenty of people playing. I've been playing it alot recently and I'm usually able to find a game quickly. I'd also rate Halo 5 as one of the best 1st person shooters, but this is offtopic so I'll continue on that other Halo thread.

I've only played 1 and 3 and found both to be very bland. Even if I had an Xbox One (I do have an OG and 360) I doubt anything can get me to buy Halo again ever. Esp today where there are so many IMO better options. Halo had its time but has been surpassed and its popularity has been fading for some time now. From Splatoon getting more attention, Halo Wars 2 falling into Bargain bins rather quickly and the recently very pathetic turnout for the Halo World Championship. This is a series not gaining any new fans anymore. That's MS biggest issue this gen. Another Gears , Halo, and Forza are not gaining new fans.

PS4 and Switch offer familiar IP's with new spins or new IP's period and just a lot of diversity in exclusives.  PS4 had exclusive Shmups, Nioh, Yakuza, Horizon, Persona, Gravity Rush 2 as just some examples of vastly different and varied games. Nintendo offered Botw, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, ARMS and Xenoblade 2, Snipperclips as again very different and varied exclusive games.  Why they are gaining new users and fans and MS is stagnating. I don't wish ill on MS but they need to learn Halo and co are not cutting it anymore. I do see some of the 2018 games  and while nothing wrong with them...it's up against some stiff compeition from PS4 and NS and honestly seems weak in comparison. I wish MS would be more aggressive on exclusives. I really liked the 360 and OG Xbox.

That is a good point of Sony, even if you don't like their 1st parties and cinematic approach they have so much variety that you can find something you like.
