I didn't because my original response was:

"You don't.  You just buy the console based on the games you want regardless how well the console might sell.  But the more choices you give to consumers (variety), the more consumers you are going to attract.  Console history has proven this."

Admittedly I just couldn't make sense of your post lol. The only way to not know is to not look at sales, and if you are looking at sales then you do know, so to say "you don't know" but then to say "console history has proven this" seems contradictory, but I didn't care enough to point this out initially.
