Matt Makes Games founder Matt Thorson is best known for TowerFall: Ascension, a delightful co-op action platformer. Thorson's next game is Celeste, a self-described "hardcore mountain-climbing platformer" that's coming to Steam this month.

Developer Noel Berry originally announced Skytorn in 2014, calling it a "procedurally generated adventure exploration game set in the skies of a post-apocalyptic world" in an old post to the PlayStation Blog. Skytorn was later pegged with a 2017 release date, yet the year has come and gone it's nowhere to be seen. However, it seems Skytorn is still very much a thing.

The Red Strings Club is the next game from Deconstructeam—the studio behind 2014's unorthodox indie point-and-click adventure Gods Will Be Watching. Billed as a "cyberpunk narrative experience about fate and happiness" that features "extensive use of pottery, bartending and impersonating people on the phone to take down a corporate conspiracy", it sounds a wee bit out there. It's also now got a launch date: January 22.
Why exquisite puzzler Opus Magnum was barred from GOG

Opus Magnum, the latest puzzle game from Zach 'Zachtronics' Barth, received one of our highest review scores in 2017. Alex gave it a 91, calling it "one of the very best puzzle games of the year, if not the decade." It's somewhat surprising, then, that it was rejected by game distributer GOG. In a recent tweet, Barth shared a statement sent by GOG, which explains that Opus Magnum hasn't appeared on the storefront because it "did not pass [GOG's] internal curation system."
