On a ten point review scale, what number should represent an average game?

But that's not a rating. In Ice Skating the max-score is something a judge can hand out. A game review is not that the game runs against a number of tests and gets a score according to the results. It's the opinion of the reviewer. And therefore one in ten games should get a ten (maybe even less, but whatever). A ten-score just says the game is better than 90% of the other games.

It's not 90%, it's 100%. When I say average, I don't mean average in terms of games, I mean average in terms of quality. Of course that's highly subjective, but reviewing games in general is a subjective affair.
