No one said it didn't matter, it's just not as important as most of you here seem to think it is... Otherwise sales of these exclusives (Persona 5, Nioh, Nier, etc.) would be A LOT higher. Persona 5 barely scraped past a million. 

Actually, I think it's very important - Sony always tries to have very diverse portfolio of exclusive IPs of various...let's say...sizes - i.e. for some Uncharted 2 was all they needed to buy PS3 - for me it was Journey and Demon's Souls - I don't really like most of Sony's 1st party AAA games, but their exclusive 3rd party games quite often hit the spot for me.

They seem to be going with the same strategy this gen, just with better hardware this time (compared to PS3 vs X360)...and that's working quite well for them.
