Well, I'm not a Canadian nationalist myself, so I usually root for the underdog teams.

I'm not a nationalist either. I often do the same, regardless of the tournament, stretching back over decades. I don't think I've ever actively cheered against Canada, but never get upset if they lose, especially if it's to a massive underdog. Like when Canada lost to France at the WHC in 2014. That was pretty cool to see.
