GOG releases another multiplayer update for the original Star Wars: Battlefront 2

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (note the colon, to distinguish it from the newer Star Wars Battlefront 2) was released in 2005, and so it was an honest and very happy surprise when an update was released a few months ago to restore its disabled multiplayer support. Earlier this week it was updated again, this time with a patch that promises "minor bug fixes and optimized performance."

Runescape's Dragon Slayer quest is now 16 years old—approximately the same age I was when I completed it. After Old School Runescape's most recent update, it now has a proper sequel titled—wait for it—Dragon Slayer 2.

The first-person supernatural mystery The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is good stuff. We called it a "intriguing, mostly satisfying, and most importantly, wonderfully restrained" story in our 82/100 review, and the biggest complaint—lack of a manual save option—was addressed in a "Redux" update that dropped in 2015. And now it looks like another update adding a peaceful, puzzle-free "free roam" mode, could be on the way too.

The team behind the bizarre, creepy Rusty Lake games has announced that a new addition to the series, Rusty Lake Paradise, will be released next week. The game will follow the story of a young man named Jakob, who returns to his home of Paradise Island after the death of his mother leaves it cursed by the ten Plagues of Egypt.

I've found that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a difficult game to get better at. Its firefights are sporadic, which means you don't actually get much practice shooting its guns. You can, of course, drop in a heavily populated area at the start of the game to get in on the action but that doesn't let you practice any end-game scenarios, such as firing a fully-tooled up sniper rifle.
I suppose it was only a matter of time until a game like Battle Royale Trainer came along.

Lab Zero's RPG Indivisible raises more than $2.2 million in crowdfunding, due out this year

Lab Zero, the folk behind 2013 fighting game Skull Girls, announced Indivisible way back in 2015, promising an RPG that was heavy on platforming and inspired by the likes of Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid. I knew its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign was chugging along nicely but I didn't quite think it'd do as well as this, closing earlier this week with more than $2.2 million raised in total.

If you've played Rainbow Six Siege in the past few weeks then you've probably come across Jäger players exploiting a glitch with his deployable shield. The glitch makes him nearly impossible to kill, and Ubisoft has been rushing to fix it. That fix is nearly complete, the developer said on Reddit on Friday, and a patch should be live in the next few days, which is good news.

The magic-wielding Enchantress will arrive in NetherRealm Studios' fighting game Injustice 2 next week for some players, the developer has announced, and you can watch her supernatural move set in action in her first gameplay trailer, above. On Tuesday she'll appear in the roster of anybody that bought the game's Ultimate Edition, Ultimate Pack, or Fighter Pack 3. Everybody else can purchase her from January 16 (previous fighters have cost $6 each).

In the near-future of The Mercury Man, humanity seems to have forgotten all about that, leading to people getting illegal mercury transfusions in an effort to cure all known diseases. As a ‘mercury hunter’, players will find ‘mercuries’ and put a stop to their nonsense. Imagine a Russian Blade Runner where replicants have been replaced by health nuts.
