Also, if Microsoft is committed to ending traditional console generations, Xbox One could be around a long time. Easily another decade with hardware updates to improve performance every 4-5 years. In which case, that user base could get quite large by the end of it's run.

More consoles sold, does not equal more users. There will be many upgrade purchases. All that will do is muddy the arguments made when we debate consoles. Eventually we will try to debate with how many ps+ and live members there are, but it wont be accurate cuz not all buy online subs but will be the best thing we have. Or software sold could be another guide.
