I think big problem for Microsoft is that its harder to control second party in quality and time they take to make games. Some games from second party studios looks little dated graphically and animations look poor. If you look Days Gone and State of Decay 2 reveal, more people were excited about SoD2 than Days gone, but after E3 2017 a lot of people thought that Days gone will crush SoD2, even though days gone animations dont look that good. Graphics and animations doesnt mean that the game will be good, but its first impression and first impressions are pretty important.

Well its mainly that who wants to make a second party game for the worst performing console? So the only ones would be low tier games that MS can fund/buy. While for the top dog, im betting games like nier, persona, death stranding, bloodborne, nio exc. where thrown at the ps4 with sony having to do very little, if they even had to do anything at all. Not to mention the vast amount of japanese games that devs dint even ask or make agreement and just released a ps4 version cuz they knew it was pointless to even port it to the xbox.
