Seems like DF made a mistake (that they admitted) of not noticing the game wasn't fully 1080p. But the drop in FPS and res hitting 1080 is true and admitted by dev.
And looking at the game it is another situation of not properly developed game since the graphs are quite simple and wouldn't justify X1X having any issue to do 4k60fps much less dropping to 45 or less on even 1080p sections.
