Doesn't matter.
Incentive within that very context means that people were incentivized to buy an Xbox One.
That is... 30+ million gamers were encouraged/motivated to purchase the Xbox One.
Lack of exclusives, people regretting their decision, people even selling their console later has nothing to do with the initial purchase incentive.

No. That is the incentive for other people to buy a console.

For some, that is the only reason to buy a console. But often may only buy a particular brand as that is what their friends own and thus wish to play with their friends.
I think the issue here is you are trying to paint everyone as having the same needs/wants/desires, when that just isn't the case.
Not everyone actually cares about exclusives... And then you get others who ONLY want exclusives.

Halo, Gears was on PC anyway, they were only timed exclusives.
There is plenty of incentive to pick up an Xbox One though, whether those incentives are applicable to you is well... Up to you.
Backwards Compatibility, Games with Gold, Price, Graphics, Sound... List goes on are all incentives to buy an Xbox One for some users.

I don't hold grudges. I don't make things personal, I don't actually care enough for that, it's the Australian in me.
But if someone has a history of propagating fake information/news/logical fallacies/lies/cats. - Then you can bet I will call them out on it and possibly use that as a framework for my argument, it's only logical.
