I don't care how underrated it might be, to be frank. As fun as the game was when I played it (decently fun), the game's existence and quiet delay apparently led to InFamous: Second Son being bumped up a full year so that there was another launch window game. Second Son suffered so much as a result that the series seems to be dormant for the foreseeable future. And what we got in return for an undercooked InFamous game was...another undercooked game. Yay

Second Son was a great game, a lot better than the previous 2.

Not even close to the quality of either. Weaker story; weaker characters; dialogue that was predominantly ad-libbed because the script wasn't done by the time the VAs began recording; gameplay that cuts out significant abilities; gameplay that forces you to collect the shards as a means to progress narratively,  to pad the game out to a decent length, rather than making them an optional, encouraged collectible that will help you unlock new abilities; very few abilities, and the ones we have are repeated three or four times among nearly identical powers. I can keep going too! The game's best feature is its visuals, which are gorgeous (miles above the  usually sub-30 framerate of 2), but if you play the game for more than one playthrough it absolutely falls apart, and it wasn't even super well held together before that. Even if you disagree, nobody can deny that a full year to, y'know, finish the script, finish the game, etc., would only have done it good, instead of rushing one game by a first-party studio out to cover for another game made by a third party, for which the writing was seemingly already on the wall.
