I find it hard to think of any reason why letting the teachers play as the shooter would be beneficial. Maybe to get inside the mind of a shooter and try to think how they think, so you can do the opposite and lead your kids to somewhere they won't think to look, or so you can catch them off guard and surprise them? Dunno. 

Well, I guess it's a video game, so the shooter can be the fun part
