That shouldn't be the case at all, what you are saying make sense on a forum for example where fanbases are what are picking things, but to critics that doesn't matter at all, or shouldn't. So they would pick a Nintendo game regardless? If not Zelda then go and pick Mario. The fact Horizon is getting more awards than and an almost perfectly scored game by critics because of another almost perfectly scored Nintendo game is concerning, honestly, if Mario was so much more acclaimed than Horizon it should have lots more awards than it, like Zelda is getting, but the fact it's not getting is in fact concerning. Is a fanbase effect happening to what should have been professional and unbiased criticts? Damn. |
Obviously you don't care about what I actually wanted to say, but it comes down to accepting that two of the top games last year were SMO and BotW. This is not me saying it, but a majority of review outlets. Now when you take out the obvious platform oriented websites (and those exist, both for Playstation and Nintendo), then my point becomes more clear. PS oriented sites have a more clear choice, while Nintendo oriented sites had not.
Zelda is cannibalizing SMO Gotypicks. Plain and simple.
