PS4 - which, to be fair with the X1, has lots of overlap. If I didn't have a PS4, I probably would be fine with the X1, or, at least, less frustrated.

I REALLY wanted Alan Wake 2. Loved that game. Figured with that, Halo, and some new IPs it would be worth the purchase. I was wrong. It happens. I blame myself for hoping for things that weren't yet announced.

Every E3 I hope they'll announce something exclusive that'll make me get it back out - KOTOR 3, aforementioned Alan Wake 2, surprise revival of Advent Rising (which I loved for some reason), or other unlikely stuff. But I don't see it happening at this point.

alright, makes sense then... I think you're absolutely justified to feel how you feel. I went from owning every single console last get (it lasted way too long) to not even considering an XB1 based only on the way MS treated the 360 in the last 3 or so years of it's lifespan. They "tricked" me when they were getting quite a few exclusive Japanese games (RPGs especially), but the writing was on the wall already.

At this point, like many here I don't see even 1 exclusive title that I'm interested in, and if I did, then I have a pretty damn good PC anyway.

So yeah, I do tend to agree with the sentiment on the OP when it comes to Xbox.

You are right about the end of the 360 life cycle. I think I was hoping they were working on new games for the One.  It seems obvious it just wasn't a priority for them.

I'm a sucker for new technology. I had all the consoles last gen (though the Wii U was for my kids) and do again this gen (again, the Switch is "mostly" for my kids), but I can't see myself ever doing that again unless Sony/Microsoft do more to differentiate themselves. It's a no-brainer to go with Sony (for me) now because there are just so many more games. I'm also thinking about building a decent gaming PC which would further negate the need for a Microsoft console, so we'll see. There really isn't anything I feel like I'm missing anyway (though I would like to play the new Divinity game on PC).

I get that people want to defend their console of choice, but I also feel like it mutes people's complaints to not being heard. There's a difference between console wars rhetoric and people who are truly frustrated with what they got with their money. Though again, I blame myself for buying before what I hoped for was announced.
