I bought an Xbox One. I am extremely unhappy with my purchase. I used to hate it when people would say they bought a console and it's collecting dust, but.... its been in the basement unhooked for 2 years. The only game I wanted to play in that time was Ori, which I was able to play at work (lucky me, I know).

Honestly, I have no hope for it anymore. I'd trade it in if I thought I could get anything remotely decent out of it.

I don't revel in any of this. I wasted my money. My wife laughs at me about it and I have no rebuttal.

This is just me. Me only. If other people love theirs, think it's the best console of choice, hate everything else, whatever... good for them. Be happy. Personally, I feel like I messed up in buying one and won't be making the same mistake again anytime soon.

it happens man... felt the same with the Wii last gen, justified it to myself saying I at least had all the consoles so I wasn't missing out on anything.

where have you been gaming then these last couple of years? pc + ?

PS4 - which, to be fair with the X1, has lots of overlap. If I didn't have a PS4, I probably would be fine with the X1, or, at least, less frustrated.

I REALLY wanted Alan Wake 2. Loved that game. Figured with that, Halo, and some new IPs it would be worth the purchase. I was wrong. It happens. I blame myself for hoping for things that weren't yet announced.

Every E3 I hope they'll announce something exclusive that'll make me get it back out - KOTOR 3, aforementioned Alan Wake 2, surprise revival of Advent Rising (which I loved for some reason), or other unlikely stuff. But I don't see it happening at this point.
